Youth With A Mission is an international movement of people who are passionate about following Jesus. Also known as YWAM, our purpose is to get to know God better and to make Him known to others.
Back when YWAM began in 1960, it's main focus was to give young people the opportunity to go on short trips to demonstrate God's love in other cultures. Today, YWAM still focusses on youth, but has members of every age (even many people who choose to spend their "retirement" in active service).
YWAM has a very decentralised structure, but at last count was operating in more than 1000 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of nearly 18,000.
